Today I am going to introduce you to Bjork Ostrom.
He is a co-owner of a few businesses with his wife Lindsay. They started a food blog a few years ago and decided to maximize it’s potential. After 5 years they built Pinch of Yum up to 5 million page views and launched an accompanying membership site that has over 2,000 members.
In this interview we talk about a wide range of things that have led to their impressive levels of success in such a short period of time.
Something that really stands out to me during this interview is the level of business competence that Bjork posseses. I find a large number of business owners that are extremely competent within their vertical yet they’re missing a lot of the aspects of business that will scale it and keep it successful.
This is not the case with Björk. As you listen to this interview you’ll find that he has made himself a student of business as well. We talk about traffic, lead generation, monetization, turn rate and on and on.
So it’s safe to say that we cover lots of valuable information in this interview.
In This Episode:
- Building a membership site
- Tricks to increasing a stick rate
- Managing separate departments
- Why a profitable business is easier to run
- Building tools to keep members
- The downside of quick action
- Fighting the resistance
Hi. My name is Bjork. I love thinking about ways to maximize potential – of people, of technology, of our lives. My wife Lindsay started a food blog a few years ago and we decided to do just that – maximize it’s potential. After 5 years we built Pinch of Yum to 5 million page views and launched an accompanying membership site that has over 2,000 members. We’ve learned a lot and we hope to share what we’ve learned with other bloggers and entrepreneurs.
